High School coaching staff

Coach Strougo

Coach Strougo

Coach Guill Strougo has been coaching for almost 20 years.  He has mainly worked with girls lacrosse.  He has been the Head Coach for Etowah twice.  Coach Strougo has also worked with North Paulding's Jr. Program and coached the GA Tech Women's Intramural Team.


He was the first coach in Cherokee County to take a Girls Lacrosse Team to a St

Coach Guill Strougo has been coaching for almost 20 years.  He has mainly worked with girls lacrosse.  He has been the Head Coach for Etowah twice.  Coach Strougo has also worked with North Paulding's Jr. Program and coached the GA Tech Women's Intramural Team.


He was the first coach in Cherokee County to take a Girls Lacrosse Team to a State Playoff and thus named coach of the year.


He loves working and challenging the girls to exceed their expectations.  He looks to take Etowah to the next level in the coming years.

Coach Mike Hackney has been coaching girls’ lacrosse for the past 4 years. He has coached both Rec league as well as club local and travel teams. He has a passion for the sport and wants to bring the best out in his players. 


Coach Hackney has coached soccer and women’s softball as well. Coach Hackney looks forward to taking the Junior Varsity team to new heights in the coming years.

Coach Lauren Watkins has been coaching high school volleyball for two years and working with high school students for past three years in a variety of roles.  While new to the sport of Lacrosse, she is eager to learn the sport and has shown great passion for working with players in helping them achieve success on and off the field.

Coach Watkins will be a great addition to our staff this year.

Coach Julia Thompson has played lacrosse for 12 years, in every position finishing her women's lacrosse career as a goalie at Life University in Atlanta, Georgia. She has coached girl's lacrosse for 5 years, with programs Outlaws, Alpharetta High School, Woodstock High School’s fall ball team, and Angels With Attitude. She graduated from 

Coach Julia Thompson has played lacrosse for 12 years, in every position finishing her women's lacrosse career as a goalie at Life University in Atlanta, Georgia. She has coached girl's lacrosse for 5 years, with programs Outlaws, Alpharetta High School, Woodstock High School’s fall ball team, and Angels With Attitude. She graduated from Norcross High School in 2018 finishing as a 2x MVP of the team and Captain. 


At Life University she was defender of the week for the Mid-South conference and overall NAIA level. She is looking forward to pushing girls to get better and grow in every aspect. Sharing the love of the sport and growing the community is another thing she is looking forward to.

Coach Megan Paloski brings a wealth of lacrosse experience and passion to her coaching role. She played lacrosse for eight years, four of which were at River Ridge High School on the Varsity team. Throughout her playing career, Coach Paloski developed a deep understanding of the game and a love for teaching others.


In addition to her high 

Coach Megan Paloski brings a wealth of lacrosse experience and passion to her coaching role. She played lacrosse for eight years, four of which were at River Ridge High School on the Varsity team. Throughout her playing career, Coach Paloski developed a deep understanding of the game and a love for teaching others.


In addition to her high school success, she has spent several years coaching youth teams, including co-coaching a third/fourth grade team and working with youth players at Angels with Attitude. Coach Paloski is committed to helping young athletes grow both on and off the field, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
